Introduction

Hamden-Shoreline Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, P.C. was founded in May, 1988 by the merger of two well established, highly regarded practices, Lee Casella, D.M.D. and Raymond Gambardella, D.M.D., P.C. of Hamden and James P. Scialabba, D.M.D., P.C. of Guilford and Clinton. Over the years the practice has grown into a five-doctor practice with the Addition of Drs. Philip J. Conforti, Robert J. Parker, and Michael P. Johnson, and the retirement of Dr. Casella.

Hamden-Shoreline has full time offices in the towns of Hamden, Guilford, and Clinton, and cares for patients of referring doctors from New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties. The doctors have full privileges at Yale-New Haven Hospital, The Hospital of Saint Raphael, Temple Surgical Center, Hamden Surgical Center, and the Yale Shoreline Surgical Center. Additionally, they maintain clinical teaching positions at the Hospital of Saint Raphael Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program and the Yale-New-Haven Hospital General Dentistry training program.

The five doctors are highly trained and well experienced in all phases of major and minor oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures, with a combined total of well over 100 years of experience. The doctors keep abreast of advances in their specialty by frequently attending continuing education courses. They are all certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and Advanced Cardiac Life Support; they are board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Intra-venous anesthesia is an integral part of the practice and all offices are well equipped to handle any situation which may arise. Appropriate consultations are obtained from patients’ internists or cardiologists when indicated, and state of the art monitors are used with every patient.
