New Location for Our Hamden Office

To better serve our community, we are pleased to announce the opening of our new, state-of-the-art oral and maxillofacial surgery office at 2560 Dixwell Avenue, in Hamden.  Our new office has replaced our 2447 Whitney Avenue location.  In addition to being more spacious, the efficient office layout improves patient scheduling resulting in a minimal wait time for scheduling patients for consults and elective surgery, as well as emergencies.  The new office boasts five fully equipped operating rooms (including dedicated implant, bone grafting, and laser surgical suites), private recovery rooms, a dedicated imaging room, and is fully HIPAA compliant and handicap accessible.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to 6 additional years of hospital based surgical and anesthesia training after dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, the doctors at Hamden-Shoreline Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. The doctors practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from implant reconstructive surgery, to corrective jaw surgery and wisdom tooth removal. They also diagnose and treat oral pathology, facial injuries, and TMJ disorders.

Hamden-Shoreline Dental Implants

Using the most recent advances in dental implant technology, the doctors at Hamden Shoreline Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates are able to place single stage implants. These implants do not require a second procedure to uncover them, but do require a minimum of six weeks of healing time before artificial teeth are placed. There are even situations where the implants can be placed at the same time as a tooth extraction - further minimizing the number of surgical procedures. Advances in dental implant technology have made it possible, in select cases, to extract teeth and place implants with crowns at one visit. This procedure, called “immediate loading,” greatly simplifies the surgical process.
